Burgundies, Jura and fortifieds from Moestue January release


2011 Thierry & Pascale Matrot Bourgogne Rouge Matrot:
Bright ruby. Unripe strawberries and some herbs on the nose. Fresh acidity, few and ripe tannins, raspberries palate, cool and easy going. 85

2011 Domaine Arlaud Bourgogne Rouge Ronceive:
Bright ruby. Light nose of red berries and slightly scented notes. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity Bourgogne Rouge, good balance, slight green note in finish. 86

2012 Marquis d'Angerville Domaine du Pélican Arbois Trois Cépages:
Pale ruby. Some herbs, red berries, bit tight nose, scented behind. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh and lively, bit tight and refreshing backbone, one could almost be in Volnay. 89

2011 Jean-Marc Pavelot Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Guettes:
Bright ruby. Some herbs, slightly unripe red berries, some bananas, leanish nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, lively, fruity, refreshing backbone, good length. 87

2007 Thierry & Pascale Matrot Volnay Santenots:
Bright ruby. Red berries, slightly scented and a starting figs touch far back on the nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, some vanilla, balanced but dies off a bit quick. 86

2007 Thierry & Pascale Matrot Blagny La Pièce Sous le Bois:
Bright ruby. Tight nose of some red berries, lean. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant body, refreshing, balanced, again a bit lean and not for everyone, charming. 87

2011 Gilles Duroché Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut Saint Jacques:
Bright ruby. Herbs, red berries, cool nose, nettles nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, pure, red berries, slight unripe note, ever so slightly biting finish. 89

2008 Domaine de la Suffrene Rouge Les Lauves:
(Magnum) Ruby. Richa and fruity nose, warm summers day bowl of dark berries. Medium acidity, high of ripe tannins, fruity, intens, bit warm and tannic finish. 86

Henriques & Henriques Sercial 5 Years Old:
Deeper golden. Some dried apricots, bananas, and almonds nose. Fresh acidity, leaner palate, fresh, not to complex but balanced and inexpensive. Also great for excellent Madeira sauce if you find it too easy going. 86

2011 Mas Amiel:
Deep ruby. Rich, fruity, dark berries, intense nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rich, ripe, fresh finish, long. 89
