86, 04 and 09 Montrose, 89 and 09 Clape Cornas and more

1989 August Clape Cornas:
Bright ruby, thin garnet rim. Scented, nuanced, spicy, fruity, minerals touch, iodine and blood, red berries nose. Very slight pepper note. Layered. Fresh acidity, ripe and few tannins, elegant and nuanced, refreshing and quite lively, red berries and almost unripe strawberries fruit, lovely balance, complex but not the longest. My first good bottle but I'm told it can be even better than this one. 93

2009 August Clape Cornas:
Almost opaque purple colour. Opened for elleven hours. Fruity, ripe, sweet, anise, spices, artificial candy. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, sweet and fruity, bit woody more than oaky, slightly dry far back, sweet and almost warm finish. 90

2009 Thierry Allemand Cornas Reynard:
Almost opaque purple colour. Ripe, woody, spices, sweet and dark berries. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rich and intense, sweet artificial blueberries, good length. 88

1986 Château Montrose:
In neck fill. Ruby, garnet rim. Some figs, spices, tobacco, earl grey, layered, complex, fine leather, nuanced nose, more mature nose than last bottle. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, savory, leaner, some figs and leather, long. 93

2004 Château Montrose:
Deep ruby, thin garnet rim. Scented, fruity, intense, cassis, touch of leather and tobacco, layered and complex nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, elegant, quite nuanced, refreshing, lovely balance, drinking beautifully now even if young, will last another twenty years. 92

2009 Château Montrose:
Deep ruby. Intense, ripe, scented, cassis, blueberries, anise, fruity, complex and layered. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, refreshing, fruity and intense palate, nuanced, layered, long. 95

2005 Le Serre Nuove Dell'Ornellaia:
Fully blind. I was on either lesser Super Tuscan or lesser Napa Valley wine. Ruby, garnet rim. Rich, fruity, sweet, touch alcoholic, liquorice nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, sweet and fruity, slightly unbalanced, clean feel, good length. 88
