Day two at the Baron of Brøttum tasting, 06 La Romanée, 95 Margaux and much more

2009 Francois Bertheau Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru:

Served blind. Bright ruby. Ripe strawberries, ever so slightly scented. Almost an alcoholic overtone on the nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity but also slightly edgy palate, a bit rough, quite long but lacks a bit of focus. More alcohol with air. Herbal. 84

2004 Domaine Trapet Chambertin:
Bright ruby, thin garnet rim. Scented, strawberries, slightly herbal, elegant nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, some cinamon, elegant palate, a bit rougher vintage, quite long. 91

1993 Dom Ruinart:
Lemon yellow, small bubbles. Apples, brioche, minerals, feels more or less the same as the first bottle about ten years back. Fresh acidity, elegant mousse, lovely balance, layered, quite nuanced, long. 92

1985 Château Haut-Bailly:
Ruby, garnet rim. Flirting nose, cigars, minerals, cassis, touch of prunes, layered and complex. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant, velvety and superb texture, long finish. 94

1985 Château Léoville Poyferré:
(Magnum) Ruby, garnet rim. Scented, cassis, leather, refined and nuanced, elegant. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, lovely balance, quite refreshing, slightly lean finish if I'm picky, long. 92

1995 Château Margaux:
Served blind. Ruby, garnet rim. Slightly fatish nose, almost fleshy leather and mineraly with some exotic spices. Scented and flirting nose, cassis. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, somewhat biting tannins still actually, but never rough. Cassis finish, focused and needs air. Very long. 96

2006 Comte Liger-Belair La Romanée:
Served blind. Bottle 2349 of 3632. Ruby, garnet rim. Scented like few, fairly rich, some smoky vanilla notes, minerals, complex and and refined. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, mouthwatering, superb texture, lively and elegant palate, long and refreshing. Pure. I was on 05 DRC RSV. 96

2006 Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras:
Served blind. Deepish ruby, garnet rim. Strawberries and floral notes, somewhat rich and sweet, feels both up front and shy at the same time. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, slightly sweet palate, elegant but at the moment a bit staccato. A bit much barrel for now.  Long. 94

2006 Comte Lafon Meursault  1er Cru Goutte d'Or
Served blind. Pale golden. Minerals, some citrus, quite rich expression, fat style. Fresh acidity, lively, elegant, maybe more elegant palate than nose, on the ripe side but very refreshing. Playful, very long. Maybe a bit too up front and rich? 92
